⚡ A Spooky Tale For Storytellers.

Creators love a good story. Make sure it won't end in a horrorshow. CC#2 ⚡

GM. If you're new here, then welcome to Creator Crunch. Your personal guide through the wild wild world of Creators 🌎

If you hate reading then you're in the right place- because I hate writing too, which is odd because I do all the communication for XPO. Nonetheless, hello and good day to you from wherever you're reading this. My Name's Josiah, I will be your host today, and In fact every week, so it's best we get acquainted.

If you enjoyed that intro, then that's what we call storytelling.

(Don't tell anyone, but this is how I got the Job)

Story telling is a core part of creating, in fact it's a huge industry in itself with over 50 Million people who consider themselves to be creators. If you so much as share a story somewhere on the corner of the internet, you are in fact a creator. And here's the butter.

Creators in the UK make bread 🥐

For the non-cool kids, No i'm not referring to a croissant. What i'm referring to is the good stuff... You know the Mulah, The De Niro...The Dosh! And guess what... They earn a shit ton of it!

In the UK alone, creators are earning over £1billion a year.

This sounds great right?

...Well here's the Crunch.

Creators don't have access to credit services.

Creators out earn their peers, with the majority of creators earning above the UK average, yet they don't have the same access to simple things like a phone contract, a loan or even a mortgage. Lenders just don't get how you earn.... SMH.

Many Creators aren't tax compliant

In our last newsletter, we posed a question to our large community of readers– Well 3,401 to be exact and the results showed that 70% of those that responded aren't tax compliant..... YIKES!

Don't worry! We're working frantically at XPO HQ to fix this, but until then... Here are 3 things you can do to help sort out your finances.

1️⃣ Organise your finances.

Whether it's an Ad sense payment or a settled campaign from Nike, always make sure you use a separate bank account for all your Creator related stuff. This makes it easier to monitor your overall transactions and Income.

2️⃣ Track Invoices.

A simple Excel or Google sheet outlining all the core details of every invoice will do I.e Brand Name & contact, Sent & due dates. As a gift to you guys we have attached a link to a template you may find useful. XPO also has this feature on our app. I know, we plug ourselves 'round here 🤷🏽‍♂️

3️⃣ Taxes

I know you've probably read this somewhere, but seriously, put 20-30% of every new income away, straight away! Again and again, we've seen creators hit with bills they didn't expect, and with those late invoice payments from brands (our creators don't have this problem 😌), the ends just don't seem to meet.

Don't get caught lacking.

The good news, is after expenses, you might not even need pay so much...but we don't have this problem right?...Cause we're all going to be prepared with XPO right? 😊

Alright, I'm tired of writing now🏃🏾‍♂️

As promised here's a little 🎁 for you for making it this far!
